Winner of the Esther Glenn Medal 1982

Neil and Julie live on a farm right at the bottom end of New Zealand. Next door lives their friend old Mr Mac whose farm, more or less looks after itself. One day Mr Mac tells the children he is expecting some visitors. The Yelvertons are coming next summer to spend Christmas with him. Julie and Neil offer to help Mr Mac tidy up his house and garden, but even with their help it takes him all the year to get ready.
